The exercise purpose was to stress-test and evaluate the capabilities of the Ugandan_x000D_

The exercise was a functional exercise, simulating multiple cases of typhoid in different_x000D_
location within Kampala, the country’s capital city. Responding at a variety of injects, the_x000D_

Uganda - DR

The specific objectives were: _x000D_
• Assess competence and skills of NRRT_x000D_
• Document availability of supplies and commodities _x000D_
• Evaluate the use of SOPs and other reference materials_x000D_
• Review coordination and communication channels_x000D_
• Identify strengths and weaknesses in the functioning of the national RRT_x000D_

Fiji - TTX

The exercise objectives were to:_x000D_
1. Assess the capacity of agencies to initiate and conduct timely risk assessments and risk communications._x000D_
2. Consider decision-making processes and feasibility of a rapid containment operation. _x000D_
3. Review activation, coordination and deactivation of a whole-of-government response to pandemic influenza and other public health emergencies._x000D_
4. Identify strengths and weaknesses in preparedness and response to public health emergencies in Fiji and agree upon next steps._x000D_
