To test the readiness of the health system in Tanzania to manage imported cases of Ebola through the testing of systems, procedures and mechanisms that support effective response and to identify ongoing training needs_x000D_

The exercise programme consisted of two distinct parts:_x000D_

Ghana - FSX

Specifically, the exercice was to assess:_x000D_
 how the healthcare workers at the Nsawam Government Hospital and the Municipal Health Administration will follow laid down protocols and standard operating procedures to contain a simulated public health event_x000D_
 the activation, response and coordination of the trained RRT to public health emergencies_x000D_
 how existing structures would be utilized in managing the simulated outbreak

KEN,TZA - Conducted

Almost 300 people participated in the cross border FSX, the majority from the EAC Partner States Kenya and Tanzania. In addition, representatives from the EAC Secretariat, EAC Partner States Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, as well as Southern African States of Lesothos, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia, participated in the FSX.
