What are the benefits of Joint External Evaluation missions?

As part of the IHRMEF, the purpose of the WHO JEE is to allow countries to assess their capacity to prevent, detect, and rapidly respond to public health risks and to support intersectoral cooperation for IHR implementation within the country.

Countries benefit in the following manner:

·         Outcomes can be used to engage senior policy makers nationally and internationally to support the capacities required under IHR

·         Support in measuring a country’s status and progress in developing and maintaining the capacities required under the IHR

·         Countries are able to identify and safeguard progress also through a dialogue with outside experts

 

·         It provides a basis for countries to engage with current and prospective donors/partners to target resources
