Key objectives

The principal objective of the West African Biorisk Management Network (WABNet) is to strengthen sustainable biosafety and biosecurity at the institutional and government levels across the West African region. WABNet is a collaborative effort among IFBA’s biosafety associations in West Africa, the West African Health Organization (WAHO), the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM), Foundation Merieux, and other partners. The WAHO serves as a pedestal for the network, advocating for and facilitating the adoption of standardized and uniform biosafety and biosecurity approaches across all 15 ECOWAS Member States.
