Resource mapping and impact analysis on health security investment (REMAP)

What is REMAP?

The Resource Mapping and Impact Analysis on Health Security Investment (REMAP) is an Excel based tool developed by WHO to map the resources - available and potential – that contribute to building and maintaining IHR capacities at country level.

WHO supports countries to develop suitable templates and checklists for the REMAP based on countries contexts. This is done through consultations with multisectoral national stakeholders, including donors and partners.

What is the purpose of REMAP?

REMAP will allow country to have an overview of the available or potential resources to support activities related to building country capacities for health security and   observe the effect of those activities on overall health security through an impact analysis as the implementation progresses.

REMAP provides evidence-based information in a single platform on the level of investment for national public health preparedness and health security in a country. It is a tool that can support the decision-making process for prioritizing, aligning and distributing resources. In addition, REMAP contributes to fostering collaboration and increasing synergies between the efforts of countries, donors and partners to effectively strengthen national capacities to prevent, detect, and respond to public health emergencies.

What can country do with REMAP?

REMAP is used to 1) draw the landscape of available resources for IHR implementation at country level, 2) monitor progress in the implementation of activities and 3) conduct impact analysis on health security investments. Countries are using REMAPT with the support of WHO. The information gathered is owned by countries and not publicly available.
