Director-General Opening Remarks on day 1 of the virtual WHA74 24 May 2021

Dr Tedros started his opening speech with a special tribute to health workers, who have been on the front-lines saving lives. He went on to talk about the COVID-19 pandemic and outlined a target to vaccinate at least 10 percent of the population of every country by September, and a “drive to December” to achieve our goal of vaccinating at least 30 percent by the end of the year.
