WHO and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are boosting cooperation to strengthen public health, supply of essential equipment, and training in the countries most vulnerable to COVID-19. The five key areas of focus are :

• Malaria diagnostics & treatment
• Antibiotic resistance
• Strengthening Primary Health Care
• Support COVID-19 supply chain
• Study public health market failures & improve on them

The new partnership was formalized in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on Friday by WHO Director General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and President of the EIB, Werner Hoyer.
