Critical actions to strengthen national capacities for outbreak prevention and response and enhance collaboration between the human and animal health sectors were identified during an October 2018 IHR-PVS National Bridging Workshop inKyrgyzstan. One priority particularly focused on developing and carrying through training courses to address food safety hazards, risks from zoonosis and other public health threats at the human–animal–ecosystem interface. This training was conducted in February with over 50 epidemiologists, veterinarians and laboratory technicians.
