The European Scientific Working group on Influenza (ESWI) is looking forward to hosting the 8th edition of its ESWI Influenza Conferences in Salzburg, Austria, from 4 - 7 December, 2021. It will be provided in a virtual-and-real hybrid format that will allow effective engagement of all participants, whether or not physically in Salzburg.
The ESWI Influenza Conferences have grown into the largest European scientific conferences dedicated to influenza and other acute respiratory viruses. This year, we again welcome abstract submissions on RSV disease and COVID-19. In keeping with our reputation for scientific excellence the upcoming seventh edition will give the floor to the most renowned influenza, RSV and SARS-CoV-2 scientists, and also hear from public health experts and healthcare professionals.
Our programme will cover topics from virology to diagnostic approaches to mathematic modelling to healthcare policy. Our Scientific Programme Committee is working on bringing you a flexible mix of parallel sessions, keynote lectures, satellite symposia, plenary meetings and poster sessions. We will cover all relevant scientific disciplines and focus on the latest state-of-the-art developments in influenza, RSV and SARS-CoV-2 fields.
The conference will also once again provide a Science Policy Interface track, namely a separate tailor-made programme for public health officials and opinion leaders in healthcare, where policy experts will be invited to debate some of the most intriguing policy and societal issues, including pandemic preparedness.
We anticipate an excellent peer discussion on lessons of COVID-19 for future pandemics, and what we see as essential to progress in science: interdisciplinary discussions to inspire new ideas and new collaborations.
You are warmly invited to partner with us for this #ESWI2021 Conference to enrich our collective learning, networking, and further collaboration!
