The objectives of IHR Exercise Crystal 2016 were as follows:_x000D_ 1) to validate the accessibility of the NFPs and the WHO IHR Contact Point (CP) using registered_x000D_ contact details;_x000D_ 1. to practise and test the NFPs’ assessment of public health events using the decision instrument_x000D_ contained in Annex 2 of the IHR (2005) and its notification process including EIS posting;_x000D_ 2) to test the NFPs’ ability to log on and use the EIS;_x000D_ 3) to improve the understanding and familiarity of newer staff across Member States and WHO who_x000D_ have had less experience with the NFP system;_x000D_ 4) to examine protocols when working with non-health actors, particularly national disaster management_x000D_ agencies; and_x000D_ 5) to familiarize participants with the IHR (2005) Emergency Committee.
