Virtual meeting held with Prequalification of IVDs PELs

A virtual meeting of Performance Evaluation Laboratories (PELs) was organized on 28 May 2025 to introduce the new procedure for WHO’s performance evaluation of in vitro diagnostics and its relationship with the prequalification assessment of IVDs and to provide general updates about activities in the past year and future priorities. Representatives from nine of the 14 listed PELs participated. Topics discussed included the expected impact of the new procedure for the PELs and the need for improved readiness to conduct performance evaluations. A next session will be organized later in the year for technical updates.
