Summary

Muratpasa Municipality established the first older people council in Turkey after also establishing the older people houses. The council, consisting of 60 people, held its first meeting in January 2020. However, during the pandemic, the council postponed its work. Muratpasa Municipality Elderly Council has started its work again after a long break. The cultural working group of the Council of Elders held a storytelling hour event in the Municipalities kindergartens to increase cultural interaction between the elderly and children. Ten older volunteers who are members of the senior council, selected fairy tales. After the preparations, the older people council members read fairy tales to the children in the municipal kindergartens for an hour during the week.
