WHO has added the BioFire® Global Fever Special Pathogens Panel to the Emergency Use Listing (EUL), expanding access to a quality-assured multiplex diagnostic that supports outbreak preparedness and response.
The assay enables rapid detection of multiple high-consequence pathogens from whole blood, including Ebolavirus spp. and other causes of acute febrile illness. Please note that under the current EUL, the product has been assessed only for Ebolavirus/BDBV detection claims.
This addition further strengthens the WHO EUL portfolio for emergency preparedness and response to Ebola and other viral haemorrhagic fever outbreaks.
