WHO PQT/MED is organizing a virtual training workshop for assessors and members of the Evaluation of Medicinal Products Technical Committee (EMP-TC) of the African Medicines Regulatory Harmonisation (AMRH) initiative on 17, 18 and 19 Sept 2025.
These experts will eventually serve the African Medicines Agency once fully operational. The workshop is part of ongoing WHO PQT/MED efforts to enhance the regulatory capacity of African assessors and to support harmonized medicines evaluation practices across the continent.
This training represents a key milestone in PQT/MED’s continued collaboration with the EMP-TC and forms part of broader preparations for future engagement with the African Medicines Agency (AMA). As AMA becomes fully operational, such capacity-strengthening activities collaboration will progressively transition under its leadership, ensuring sustainability and institutional continuity.
Although participants for this session have been selected, this announcement reflects PQT/MED’s commitment to transparency and to supporting long-term capacity building for equitable access to quality-assured medical products throughout Africa.
