Sharjah police has launched an initiative to enhance the quality of life in UAE community. They have chosen a group of neighborhoods in Sharjah city to increase the awareness of security in a period of 100 days. The initiative includes security awareness campaigns with wide participation of the various Sharjah police station departments by setting up a mobile station that operate 24 hours a day in the neighborhoods in which the initiative is implemented. In addition, the police cars that stay in the neighborhood to insure and enhance the security aspects with the availability to the security surveillance cameras linked to the command and control room. These rooms are covered all vitals places in these neighborhoods to ensure the success of the initiative by providing security and safety. In another aspect of the initiative is spreading awareness to the member of the public living in neighborhoods through text messages and social media. Also, distributing leaflets to the people in various languages to ensure that the security message is reached to all people in the community. As well educating shop owners to protect their properties and preserve them from thieves by giving them listed guides on awareness leaflets.

The crime prevention team also plays effective role in reducing the occurrence of crime by arresting suspects. The “Safe neighborhood” initiative include an organized campaign on vehicles parked for long period of time on roads and neighborhoods. They affirms keenness to achieve a sense of safety index to support the federal government approaching and adopting the concept of the government accelerators and to apply it in a way that ensure the achievement of the national agenda for the UAE vision in 2021 which adopt the idea of that UAE is the safest place on the global level. In addition, it serves the domains of the Age-friendly that focus in the security and the safety of the elderly in the community.
