The 24^th edition of Opole Senior Days under the patronage of the Mayor of Opole took place on June 20-24, 2022. under the slogan: “We are attracted to everything.” The leitmotif was the railway.

The celebrations started on Monday, June 20, 2022 with the mass in the Opole Cathedral for seniors at 10:30 am. Then at At 11:30 a colorful parade started from the Cathedral. It featured: the Council of Seniors of the City of Opole, Day Care Houses, the Senior Center in Opole. The procession was accompanied by loud music, whistles and railway-style lollipops – the seniors were visible and heard. At. At noon in front of the Opole town hall there was a ceremony of handing over the keys to the city gates as well as music with vocal shows performed by seniors.

Tuesday, June 21, 2022 was marked by sightseeing. In the morning it was possible to visit: Upper Castle, Railway Station and premises of Water Supplies and Sewage Company. The afternoon was a time for the city game. From 5:00 p.m. – 9 teams were supposed to find 12 points located in the city, based on the instructions they received. In every place there were interesting tasks waiting for seniors to be performed, e.g. solving puzzles. The city game ended at the railway station. Participants were given gifts in the form of colorful umbrellas with the logo of the 24 Seniors Days in Opole.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022 a Senior Ball took place in the Salomon Restaurant – from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The ball was very popular, and all the tickets available to Senior Center quickly sold out. Seniors had a great time – dancing, catering, festive clothes and a lot of positive energy – this is how you can briefly describe the fun they had together.

Thursday, June 23, 2022 seniors had a feast at the Open-Air Museum – at the Museum of the Opole Countryside in Bierkowice. The feast was organized in one of the farms between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Seniors could integrate with the sounds of music and singing. A treat in the form of cake, coffee / tea awaited them; home-made bread with lard and low-salt cucumber and cottage cheese with dill or chives, as well as grilled sausage. The weather was good, hence seniors could take a walk among the trees and greenery in the open-air museum.

The last day is Friday June 24, 2022. was the day of another dance party – a cultural home-style meeting as part of the Opole Culture Night. The ivent took place in Railway Restaurant at the Main Train Station. The event was styled in the 1970s – both in terms of costumes, music and snacks. Seniors could recall the days of their youth.

The 24 Opole Senior Days were very popular among seniors living in the City of Opole. Seniors once again showed that they were very eager to be active, to integrate with their peers, and have fun.
