Smart rooms

The Department of Social Services in Sharjah is preparing to launch new smart rooms for senior citizens residing in its elderly care home, especially after the success of the first experiment, which included equipping a small number of smart rooms, leading to the conversion of 22 group and individual rooms into smart rooms.

The smart room provides 6 services, including turning on and off the air conditioning, turning on and off the lighting, opening and closing the curtains, opening and closing the door, opening and closing the TV, in addition to controlling the room closing system from all of the above, and keeping the air conditioning open during sleep or relaxation, and all of these Services are done by using a tablet (iPad) and pressing the specific buttons shown in the pictures.

The aim of these rooms is to provide an attractive environment for senior citizens in the home, in all social, health, entertainment and other aspects. The smart room is one of the remarkable achievements in terms of interest in this category, and by the way, it is one of the important initiatives that provide physical and psychological comfort for the elderly, as well as harnessing technology to serve the elderly.
