The Sharjah Urban Planning Council has prepared in accordance with the strategic plan for the Sharjah age-friendly City program 2017-2020 a list of engineering requirements appropriates for the elderly that are optional and titled “Sharjah Guidance for Designing Age-friendly Housing”. Using it as a guide material by the authorities and consultants in the housing design sector where it will be used the regulations during the design, construction, maintenance, and operation processes on sites, facilities, buildings, environment components and related transportation systems.  The guide includes an introduction to the guiding principles on which the guide was based.
