Sharjah Age-Friendly City Office Launches Its Third Strategy 2024-2026

After the approval of the third strategic plan for the Sharjah Age-Friendly City Program 2024-2026 by the Executive Council of the Government of Sharjah, the Department of Social Services in Sharjah organized a meeting to launch the strategy for the coordinators of the strategic plan in governmental, non-governmental and private departments on Monday August 12, 2024 at the House of Wisdom in Sharjah.

The purpose of the meeting, according to Asmaa Al-Khudari, Director of the Sharjah Age-Friendly City Office, is to introduce the coordinators to the new strategy so that they can build their initiatives for the coming period on it. The office has developed a realistic and ambitious strategic plan, in which it has harnessed all capabilities to perform all activities and services according to the available resources that ensure the integration of the elderly into society. The importance of providing activities that serve the standards of age-friendly cities issued by the World Health Organization was also taken into consideration. The plan was prepared and developed through the joint efforts of the heads, directors and officials of various governmental and private entities that allocate initiatives for the elderly in the Emirate of Sharjah.
