Wroclaw implements projects within the framework of governmental grants through public institutions, non-governmental organizations, associations, non-formal urban movements and senior organizations (e.g. Senior Clubs, Third Age Universities).  The following projects are examples of Wroclaw’s age-friendly work:

– Project FIO (realization of the task “Professional Senior – Volunteer in Non-Governmental Organization”):
The aim of this project is to encourage seniors to continue participating in professional activities such as volunteering in non-governmental organizations in the Municipality of Wroclaw. The project intends to improve the selection process for the organization to find volunteers who have unique competencies that can enhance the efficiency of NGOs.

– The Academy of Active Volunteer Seniors:
This program aims to keep older people active and combat social exclusion. Under the guidance of the AASW, The Foundation “Active Senior” offers a full package of educational and sports activities for seniors. Within the frameworks of these projects, a database of volunteers has been collected. The volunteers are supposed to create and take part in new initiatives within NGOs (http://konkursy-dla-ngo.blogspot.com/2017/04/dotacje-na-projekty-dla-seniorow.html).

– Social campaigns focused on the process of intergenerational integration in Wroclaw that are being planned or implemented: “Seniors ahead! – education for the body, health and spirit” and “A computer is a senior’s friend” (https://www.wroclaw.pl/rozmawia/strategia/Strategia_2030.pdf; http://www.wroclaw.pl/strategia-rozwoju-wroclawia-2030/files/rpoin/LPR-2016-01-25_2_projekty-spoleczne-Miasto-Wroclaw.pdf)
