Committed To Becoming More Age-Friendly
Wilton Manors, Florida United States of America
The City’s Community Affairs Advisory Board has undertaken the goal of making the City of Wilton Manors more age-friendly. It recently created, printed and distributed the City’s Senior Resource Guide for Seniors and their Caregivers – identifying services, programs, and resources for our Senior community. Communication will be created for the City’s bi-monthly newsletter, the “Town Crier” to better distribute the Senior Resource Guide. The City also maintains a vulnerable population listing of individuals to check on before, during, and after an emergency event – such as a hurricane – an initiative will be undertaken to advertise this program and increase participation. The Age-Friendly Community program will be explained in a Town Crier article and solicit/survey for community input. Primary mechanism will be the City’s Community Affairs Advisory Board – and the bi-monthly newsletter as a means of communication to the residents.
