The City of Dieppe is a vibrant and growing community. You will find not only a very well-developed urban feel, but also a pleasant niche of natural assets that include parks, green spaces and more than 55 kilometres of trails and bicycle paths. No wonder Dieppe is part of the fastest growing Census Metropolitan Area east of Saskatchewan!

There are activities for the entire family that take place throughout our many facilities, including the Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre, our arenas and the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre. There are also a number of festivals and events that are certain to keep you busy!

Seniors plays an important role in Dieppe. Totaling more than 20% of people living in Dieppe, the city is ideal for seniors, as it is close to hospitals, has public transit, a safe environment, many apartment buildings and affordable housing.

Annually, the City of Dieppe has a budget for seniors between $3000-8500$. Dieppe offers activities to seniors throughout the year, having activities such as 50+ Aerobics, line dancing, yoga gold, 50+ aqua health, 55+ Cards and pickleball.

Since 2010, Dieppe has a permanent committee of seniors along with a liaison and a paid employee. This committee organizes an annual event on the International Day of Older Persons on October 1st. The events are always sold out! Furthermore, the committee had their first action plan in 2012-2017. Since then, the committee started a new action plan in 2018.

In 2020, the City of Dieppe will have it’s first intergenerational centre. With a new greenhouse, a community kitchen, an office for the seniors committee and storage, an all-year walking track and multi-function room, the centre will have even more opportunities for the seniors in Dieppe to be seen and involved in our community.
