UK Network of Age-friendly Communities

Committed To Becoming More Age-Friendly

UK Network of Age-friendly Communities  United Kingdom

The UK Network of Age-friendly Communities works with existing GNAFCC members, as well as those who are working towards membership across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The UK Network was launched by the UK Urban Ageing Consortium in 2012 and is supported by the Centre for Ageing Better (Ageing Better).

Ageing Better works in collaboration with the UK Network to bring about change and promote better use of evidence and learning at the local level.

Together we aim to:

  • Connect communities that share our ambition of creating more age-friendly communities
  • Share learning about what works across age-friendly cities and communities to create the conditions for ageing better at the local level
  • Feed learning in and out of the network, by promoting better use of evidence, and by documenting and disseminating good practices on what communities are doing
  • Provide support to places that want to become more age-friendly to understand how they can do this, by joining the network, through training, accessing information and resources.

About Ageing Better

The Centre for Ageing Better is an independent charitable foundation, and a member of the UK What Works Centre Network, which supports policy makers, commissioners and practitioners to make decisions based upon strong evidence of what works.
