The Arts and Cultural Affairs Department includes Forever Young, a senior adult program that currently has about 1,100 members. As one of the 21 certified retirement cities in Mississippi, the Hometown Mississippi Retirement Program is a big part of our department. Our staff travels all over the state promoting the City of Southaven with Mississippi Hometown Retirement. Southaven offers a variety of housing choices in a wide range of prices from patio homes to estates, from apartments to senior housing. An active community theatre and arts council provide a creative outlet as well. Also, the range of comprehensive health care services offered in Southaven brings convenience and peace of mind. With a major hospital located in the heart of the city and numerous private physician practices, behavioral health services, pharmacies, dental practices and health specialists nearby, it is no surprise that Southaven serves as a regional health mecca.Part of living retirement at its best is taking advantage of what our community has to offer in terms of living an active, affordable, healthy, and secure life that involves time spent with family. From parks, entertainment, sports, education, and the arts – there’s plenty to do in Southaven. Neighborhood parks provide an area for picnics, hiking, fishing, and relaxation. We welcome all to join our Forever Young Senior Program as well. The Arts and Cultural Affairs Department within out Parks Dept. includes Forever Young, a senior adult program that currently has about 1,100 members. They are very active, have many activities, and work well together and within our Arts & Cultural Affairs Dept.
