The concept of “Prudentópolis Amiga da Pessoa Idosa” in English “Prudentopolis is
Elderly People´s friend” has been working for some years by the Public Administration through intersectoral and interdisciplinary actions, such as the Care Network for the Elderly (RAPI), the Comprehensive Health Care Program for the Elderly of Prudentópolis (PAISIP) and other prevention, awareness and maintenance actions aimed at the Rights of Elderly People. As well as the presentation of the WHO Friendly Cities and Communities Program for the Elderly Person, together with PAHO/WHO, UTFPR and the Municipal Council for the Rights of the Elderly Person (CMDPI), we legitimize the commitment of aging with quality of life, welcoming, listening and empathy, promoting the well-being of the
elderly. In addition to stimulating Civil Society, Civil Society Organizations, Business
Groups and other levels of Government (Municipal, State and Federal) and Power
(Legislative, Executive and Judiciary). Prudentópolis gained strength and support with the mutual cooperation of the Agencies involved in the Program, implemented an implemented Public Policies, developed continued action plans and more and more the ideals for the elderly have come to fruition. The search for social development still reaches challenges, and the trends of increase in the elderly population in the municipality, turn all attention in order to carry out and move towards practical and punctual resolutions, planned in common agreement between all citizens, such as the fight against ageism and promoting friendly environments for all ages. Certification by PAHO/WHO is an advance
and an immeasurable gain for all protagonists, especially for the elderly in the municipality of Prudentópolis.
