The programs and services currently provided in Paredones that benefit the commune’s older population include:

  • “Vinculos” (Links) Program: public policies oriented to promote the exercise o the elderly’s rights and their active participation in community networks
  • Social tourism: access to recreation and/or leisure spaces that help strengthen seniors’ social networks
  • Sports for life: activities that promote active aging, through physical recreation and sports activities
  • SENAMA leadership workshops: offer training to members of senior organizations through participatory regional conference and regional advisory councils of the elderly
  • Active aging program: provides education and opportunities for personal, cognitive, physical, and social development
  • National fund for the elderly: finances projects ideated, prepared and developed by organizations of elderly adults
  • Local initiatives: founded in order to promote and facilitate participation of older adult groups in contestable funds and resources
  • municipal submission ucam for minor expenses and celebration passing august and day of the elderly adult;
  • community program for older adults: to carry out different activities addressed for older adults of the community;
  • subvention to the elderly home for functioning expenses;

We are also in the installation process of the technical committees for the elderly adult, in order to inform the benefits and case analysis to carry out the visits and manages corresponding to their needs, mainly with the social department and the disability office. Planned and building processes with a friendly city view are the inclusive municipal swimming pool, community pharmacy and day center (foundation challenge) for 15 users who will have access to games room, cinema, reading, gymnastics, adjusted greenhouse, food partial and health attention of the adult major program of cesfam.
