Committed To Becoming More Age-Friendly
Odivelas Portugal
It is intended that the project Odivelas, Concelho Amigo das Pessoas Idosas represents a concerted effort to respond and take advantage of the ongoing demographic changes. This project is structured on the basis of work already developed by WHO in the Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities and the Global Age-friendly Cities Guide.
Purpose: Make Odivelas a better place for health, participation and security, adapting structures and services so that they include and are accessible to older people with different needs and abilities.
Strategic development: This project is based on close cooperation and partnership between the Municipality of Odivelas through its Division of Social Innovation and Educational Projects, and the Institute of Aging at the University of Lisbon, as well as interaction with the various public entities, businesses, cultural, educational and religious institutions, community groups and individuals, facilitated in the town hall.
