Our vision is to develop a comprehensive and inclusive environment that will support and empower older citizens to live a healthy, active and safe life as fully participating and contributing citizens of their communities.

Our programs include educational, social, and physical opportunities held on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. Our services include:

• Transportation to medical appointments with our Wheels to Wellness program
• Monthly transportation for shopping
• Food Smart Bulk Buying program
• Monthly Meals 4U
• Income Tax Clinics
• Woman Alone (a meeting of widows)

We offer several opportunities to hear special guest speakers on topics of interest at our Lunch and Learn.

We initiated a forum on housing that allowed older adults to voice their opinions and to describe their future needs for housing to prospective developers. This resulted in the development of an adult housing complex known as the Atlantic Garden House and we expect occupancy in the fall of 2021. We actively advocated and received confirmation for the installation of an automatic door in our local grocery store. Working with our local Health Clinic, we procured the services of a physical therapist, a dietitian, and a foot care nurse.

We also support opportunities for intergenerational involvement through Canada Day-Paint Nackawic Red, Take Back the Night, Make Tracks at the Axe, Monthly Community Charitable Breakfasts, Christmas Daddies program, Family Fun Day, Share the Spirit-Christmas, Community Garden, Nackawic in Bloom, Feed the Hawks, Go Girls and Active boy programs.

These programs provide opportunities for older adults to be involved and active as both managers and recipients of these services. We have already become the point of contact for older adults and their families who are in need of information about programs and services.
