The City of Milpitas is joining the other cities in Santa Clara County to become part of the network to promote vitality and vibrancy for seniors. The Milpitas Senior Center provides a valuable resource for seniors to gather, socialize, and participate in a diversity of recreation-based activities. Our focus for the future is the following: Creating a resource library for services aligned to the needs of our senior population (such as “Rebuilding Together,” committed to assisting with home repairs, installation of handrails etc.); creating a newsletter geared toward Milpitas seniors to effectively highlight the various resources available to them; implementing an innovative safety street-crossing system; and creating a network of “Dementia Friends” throughout the City of Milpitas. The City of Milpitas is committed to promoting the health and well-being of the seniors in the community. We endeavor to create programs and services to meet their needs.
