In the Older Adult Program of our community, various activities are developed that directly benefit our Seniors and that adhere to the guidelines of the current administration, such as workshops, activities, and celebrations. Additionally, all the new roads and infrastructure are adapted for greater convenience of our seniors, especially those with disabilities.

Strategic Vision:

Encourage active aging by increasing the older population’s participation in the commune, promoting self-care and autonomy, encouraging the elderly to exercise their rights and ensuring that these rights are recognized in the commune.

Objectives:

  • Promote the integration and participation of older adults at the community, regional and national levels.
  • Coordinate intersectoral social service tables to work on issues that aim to improve vulnerability and/or dependency of the elderly.
  • Carry out a working table with different entities of the commune — hospitals, Cesfam, Cecosf, Hogar de Cristo, NGOs, etc.– in order to understand the main challenges that older adults face in the commune.
  • Educate older adults about their rights and the promotion of them, and ensure that these rights will be valued and respected by all of the community.
