The age-friendly project for Kumertau is very relevant, given that the elderly make up one third of the population. Therefore, in drawing up the plan of project activities, we decided that we must not only create comfortable living conditions for older people, but make them active participants in social life.

Based on the analysis of the living conditions of older persons in Kumertau, and from recommendations on their improvement, we identified the main objectives for every aspect of the analysis, We involved all the organizations and agencies of the city in the project, having defined their responsibility for each specific area.

To date, the project is being implemented in accordance with its plan of action. The Coordinating Council is actively involved in the implementation of the project. Currently, the City District has primary organizations of veterans that include working seniors. This enables the elderly to feel more comfortable in retirement, because they are still active members of society. To further enable older persons to be involved in activities, the Veterans Council was provided with comfortable rooms, equipped with the latest technology for their meetings and events.

In the future, we intend to strengthen the integration of older persons in the social and political life of the city, develop more housing and communal services, and harness the potential of older persons in educating the younger generations.
