– Incheon Metropolitan City established its vision of “Incheon, an Age-Friendly City Where Seniors Are Happy.” This vision embodies Incheon Metropolitan City’s commitment to developing continuous and proactive support policies to address the aging population, longer life expectancy, and the growing fear and anxiety surrounding aging. This policy aims to foster a happy and prosperous aging process.

– Incheon Metropolitan City plans to implement policies for the creation of an age-friendly city with the goals of establishing a comprehensive care system and health management for seniors, providing productive employment opportunities, creating a safe and convenient residential environment, promoting participation in leisure and social activities, and fostering intergenerational respect and social integration.

– This year, Incheon Metropolitan City has established its 2nd Phase 5-Year Master Plan (2025-2029) for an Age-Friendly City, embodying the vision of “Incheon, an Age-Friendly City Where Seniors are Happy.” This master plan consists of a total of 77 detailed projects across 13 sub-tasks within 5 major domains, encompassing all areas listed in the WHO guidelines(eight domains).

– The 5 major domains are comprised of 3 sub-tasks and 26 detailed projects in the Care and Health sector, 2sub-tasks and 12 detailed projects in the Job Participation sector, 3 sub-tasks and 14 detailed projects in the Living Environment sector, 3 sub-tasks and 17 detailed projects in the Social Participation sector, and 2 sub-tasks and 8 detailed projects in the Respect and Social Integration sector.

– To achieve this, we will establish detailed project implementation plans for each sector, conduct ongoing monitoring, and evaluate their performance to ensure the provision of practical and helpful policies and services.
