The Municipality of Guaymallén through the Department of Older Adults has been actively working on the development and implementation of different age-friendly policies throughout the following programs:

-Care for older adults living on the streets;
-Legal advisory services for older adults suffering from abandonment and/or abuse;
-Promotion and protection of human rights for older adults;
-Health care workshops;
-Cultural and sports workshops;
-Training workshops for older adults; and
-Legal advisory for organizations of older adults.

Moreover and with the intention to extend a more age friendly assistance, the Municipality of Guaymallén has been working on the development of a space where our older adults can participate, debate and discuss all public policies and proposals that will be later implemented in our city. This space of debate and political participation will be compromised with representatives of the Municipality as well as of organizations of older adults.

Also, the Municipality of Guaymallén has been working alongside the National Institute of Social Services for Retirees and Pensioners – INSSJP-PAMI – of Argentina on the Program “For age-ffriendly cities and communities”. Since the beginning, the technical team has been committed on fulfilling the different phases of the Program and we are looking forward on becoming an age-friendly city, as well as becoming part of this Network in order to share initiatives and experiences.

Finally, the Municipality and the Department of Older Adults seeks through the different initiatives and actions mentioned above, to become a city that promotes healthy and active ageing for our older adults.
