Dong-gu, Busan Republic of Korea
○ The age-friendly city implementation plan in Dong-gu was aimed at creating an active city where older adults are safe and happy, reflecting the image of Dong-gu as an active city. Thus, our aim is to create a city where older adults can feel safe and secure and share their lives together to enjoy an active old age.
○ The basic policy for the eight areas of the age-friendly city in Dong-gu, Busan is as follows:
○ 8 areas of Dong-gu, Busan: (area 1) outdoor spaces and buildings; (area 2) transportation environment; (area 3) housing and residential environment; (area 4) leisure and social participation; (area 5) respect and social inclusion; (area 6) civic participation and employment; (area 7) communication and information; (area 8) local welfare and health.
○ Basic Policy: The basic policy is adjusted to suit the situation of Dong-gu based on the WHO Guide for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities. When promoting age-friendly projects, the policy of an age-friendly city can be promoted based on the following basic policies:

Goal – A city that improves the quality of life by creating a convenient environment for older adults to live safely

1. Outdoor Space and Buildings
It aims to create a sustainable age-friendly outdoor space and secure infrastructure for the accessibility and convenience of older adults.
2. Accessible Transportation Environment
It aims to create a transportation environment that older adults can use safely and safely, and to enhance the accessibility and convenience of transportation by local communities.
3. Housing and Residential Environment
It aims to create a comfortable residential environment and expand support services for older adults to live safely and safely.

Goal – A city that supports the social environment and policy where all generations mingle and considerate older adults.

It aims to expand opportunities for customized leisure activities and social participation to promote leisure activities of older adults.

In order to strengthen the social perception that older residents can be recognized for their existence, it aims to realize a community that recognizes and rewards the contributions of all older citizens who have made to the community and provides a place for social integration.

It aims to support local communities for job development and stable retirement design that can satisfy the economic needs of older adults.

Goal – A warm city that provides customized services to meet the needs of older adults.

It aims to realize a caring administration that strengthens access to information so that older adults do not have difficulty communicating as a member of the community.
8. Community Welfare and Health
It aims to build a city that provides welfare and health services supportive of older adults by strengthening customized health services and care services for older adults, and realizing rapid and accurate local welfare using digital technology.
In summary, it can be summarized as follows:

– The objective is to create a city that enhances the quality of life by offering a safe and convenient environment for older adults to live.
○ Strategy 2: Building an Active Community (Related areas: Area 4: Leisure and Social Participation, Area 5: Respect and Social Inclusion, and Area 6: Civic Participation and Employment).
– The objective is to create a society of active community where all generations interact with older adults.
○ Strategy 3: Consideration of urban implementation to lead a comfortable life (Related Area: Area 7: communication and information, Area 8: community welfare and health)
-The objective is to offer customized services that suit the requirements and demands of older adults and to construct a warm city where they can coexist peacefully.
○ From this point of view, the vision of the Dong-gu Elderly Friendly City Action Plan was selected as “Dong-gu, an Active Aging City where older adults are safe and happy,”, reflecting the active image of Dong-gu, such as the successful promotion of the Northern Port Redevelopment Project. Our aim is to develop a city that improves the quality of life by providing a safe and convenient environment for older citizens to live. Furthermore, the goal is to provide tailored services that meet the needs and demands of older adults and to develop a welcoming city that provides them with the opportunity to live in harmony.
