The City of Brampton’s first Age-Friendly Strategy and Action Plan (“the Plan”) was endorsed by Council on June 19, 2019, and represents a major milestone in moving the community forward towards being recognized as a leading age-friendly community, globally. The Plan aims to make Brampton a city that meets the needs of residents of very age and ability.

The Plan was developed with extensive community engagement and is based on best practices. As the City moves forward with implementation, effective measurement of the achievement of the Plan’s goals is essential. Policies within the City’s Official Plan document, as well as design standards, will be updated to reflect the objectives of the City’s age-friendly strategy.
