Augusta Age Friendly Designation Celebration and press conference was held on March 27 at the Boathouse Community Center in Augusta. Neighborhood Walkability Surveys will take place following the press conference. This will encourage other walkability surveys to be conducted throughout the community in the next several months, culminating in an Active Living Workshop with the Walkable and Livable Communities Institute. A Town Hall will take place in April where members of the Age Friendly Advisory Council will be announced, and members of the community will make comments on what is working for them in their community, and what enhancements are needed to make Augusta an Age Friendly Community for all ages.
