Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority in cooperation with the Department of Social Services in Sharjah has organized an initiative called “Let’s reach Them” as part of its relentless effort to support and protect the elderly and people with special medical needs in Sharjah. The initiative aims to identify subscribers from this category to provide them with distinguished services. The initiative launched by the authority in cooperation with the Social Services Department aims to reach subscribers with special medical needs in the city of Sharjah who are identified through the Social Services Department and to put distinctive signs on homes and electricity boxes to provide a database about them in all emergency offices to give them priority in providing services and ensuring that the electricity supply is not cut off for any circumstances. Also, providing mobile generators to their homes in emergency cases and during periodic maintenance. Under the effort of both departments and the continuous cooperation in implementing initiatives for the elderly and people with special needs in line with the department’s approach based on care and empowerment, and indicated that the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority is among the leading institutions in Sharjah that cooperate in Many with societal issues in order to promote social responsibility. The elderly and people with special medical needs enjoy a series of services that are provided to them in their homes. In addition, providing daily instructions and consultations via phone call by the social worker checking their condition and identifying their needs, and supporting them psychologically and morally to promote their health and well being.
