This special issue published by BAGSO, the German National Association of Senior Citizens’ Organisations, provides examples from all across the world to give suggestions on how the topics of sustainability and ageing can be thought together and how initiatives can be developed locally. It covers intergenerational housing projects, the community use of green spaces, sustainable engagement of older people or the participatory development of age-friendly cities. Examples from Münster and Radevormwald, two of the German cities of the Global Network, are included.
