The Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs launched an initiative entitled “Connecting Generations” as part of the strategic plan of the Sharjah Age-Friendly City Program. The initiative included a meeting that brings together all generations in society. The initiative is mainly related to the idea of ​​Sharjah joining the global network of age-friendly cities. The Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs was keen to make this initiative include all ages with the aim of integrating them into the community and benefiting from their experiences in life.

The efforts made by the department to integrate the elderly into society are great efforts, as it hosts many meetings during the year. About 4 meetings have been carried out so far since the launch of the new age-friendly strategic plan for the Sharjah office at the beginning of 2021.
