Application Of The (Drug Regulator) For The Elderly In Sharjah

The Department of eGovernment in the Emirate of Sharjah launched the application of the “Drug Regulator”, which serves the elderly, in accordance with the Department’s 2018 operational plan and to achieve one of the objectives of the strategic plan of Sharjah Age-friendly cities program. As a result of the availability of advanced health care and improved quality of life in the UAE, it is expected that the proportion of elderly in the country will increase in the coming years and as a contribution to providing the best possible support and care for them, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Director General of the Department, said that launching the application of the “Drug Regulator” is an important step in several steps taken by the Department under the slogan “Sharjah is a Age-friendly City.” Sharjah is the first Arab city in the Middle East to officially join the network Which is one of the most important initiatives of the World Health Organization to improve the life of elderly and develop the services provided to them. Therefore, this leadership must be maintained in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. This application includes three sections: medicine, timeline and medical profile and the use of it is to remind the elderly and to organize the timing for each dose
