Age- Friendly City- Voice of Seniors Engagement
In Fall of 2023 the City of St. John’s though the Government of NL grant ” Age-Friendly NL Communities Program-Steam, 2″ had the opportunity to engage the seniors of our City to find out what it means for them to live in an age- friendly city and what can the City do to make St. John’s more age-friendly.
Engagement sessions such as; in-person pop-ups, online interaction, lunch & learn and an in-person engagement session took place to gather information and to speak directly to seniors to ensure their voices are heard. From these engagement sessions our Organizational and Performance team created a “What we Heard” document which will help guide our Age-Friendly Committees next action items.
May 6th, 2024 an Age-Friendly Cities-Voice of Seniors follow up event will take place where we’ll review the “What we Heard” document, discuss the derived action items and special guest Leo Bonnell- Age-Friendly Community- Clarenville NL. Leo will speak about his experience and knowledge of being Age-Friendly at a community, provincial and national level.
