Summary
The Flex line is part of the local public transportation system in the Hallstahammar municipality. The municipality is investing in offering public transport free of charge to all citizens. Through the flex line, older adults can easily call and book round-trip transportation to the store, to various activities through the community, the gym, and to see friends and acquaintances. Through the flex line, the municipality’s older citizens can easily participate in social activities and be an active part of society.
Each year, the flex line transports thousands of older people in the Hallstahammar municipality to and from our activity centers, pensioners’ gyms, and more. Every year, our activity center is visited by more than 25,000 visitors. The Hallstahammar municipality has 16700 inhabitants and just over 4000 are older than 65 years!
The flex line is operated with a smaller handicap-adapted vehicle equipped with a ramp for wheelchairs and mobility assistive devices. The flex line picks up passengers at their front door and drives to any destination within Hallstahammar, Kolbäck, Mölntorp, Strömsholm, Herrskogen and Borgåsund.
The Hallstahammar municipality has for some time invested in a sustainable, smart, age-friendly local transportation system for older adults and continues to strive to make transportation as affordable and accessible, as well as safe and secure as possible.
