Summary

This project is planned as a Senior Activity Center in an effort to promote a community of active seniors. This project includes the construction of a new senior activity center to handle increased demand for senior programs in the northwest section of the City. The project site is a newly acquired 4½ acre property located between Martin Luther King Boulevard and NW 9th Street in Pompano Beach, Florida. The new Senior Activity Center will be designed to meet the City’s current and future needs. The City has contracted with Bermello Ajamil & Partners to provide professional architectural design and engineering consulting and related services. This is a General Obligation Bond project and is extremely important to the City. The activity center will be roughly 6,000-8,000 SF in size and will be certified LEED Silver at a minimum. This project is currently in the design development phase with an anticipated completion date of August 2021.
