Summary

Porto Pedonal Pop consists of the definition of a demonstrative map of the network of continuous pedestrian paths and living spaces in the territory, with the aim of gathering criteria to support decision-making and typologies of intervention in the public space, namely, for the installation of benches throughout the city.

The promotion of walking routes lacks the guarantee of conditions that invite older people to walk. In longer journeys, the existence of resting points along the walking routes, especially for older age groups, is one of the fundamental conditions to ensure the comfort of these journeys.

It is intended to promote pedestrian mobility, providing the routes with levels of comfort and safety, and facilitating the walking effort, allowing to improve the quality of life of those who use them daily, or opening the perspective of new routes, regenerating and revitalizing the areas where they are located.
