Miura City “Cheer-up Seniors Class”

Summary

The City holds “Cheer-up-Seniors Class” to get more seniors to become active and healthy. Started in 2006, the project has been expanding in its venues with new participants every year, and now more than 200 people enjoy the class at 10 sites. Anyone from 65 years and over is eligible to attend.
Some venues provide classes based on the participants’ physical levels. Instructors give regular physical checkups and healthcare talks. Participants enjoy socializing while improving their muscle power by exercising.
