Summary
Minami Ashigara City started “Minami Ashigara Future Creation College” in 2017, where businesses, government, schools, and residents work together to respond to regional issues.
To create a senior-friendly community, the College is promoting a program named “Minami Ashigara City Orange Network” to locate missing individuals with dementia as early as possible. Individuals with dementia receive two kinds of stickers – one with Orange Network Logo and the other with a QR code linking to their contact – to put on their clothes, so that it becomes easier for residents to locate them in the event that they become lost. This is an attempt to form a framework to get the whole community involved in watching out for individuals with dementia.
