Making GP Surgeries Age Friendly

Making GP Surgeries Age Friendly

Summary

As part of the Age Friendly Island Programme, we have been working with Tower House Surgery in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, to understand what needs to be in place to make GP Surgeries Age Friendly. With Tower House’s Patient Participation Group and the Age Friendly Island Public Forums we worked together to produce a short film based on Tower House Surgery describing what has been achieved to date and a toolkit which works through the process of engaging with the public to achieve this. The video on Making GP Surgeries Age Friendly and the toolkit – “”Making Age Friendly GP Surgeries Work for You”” can be seen on the Age Friendly Island website. The video highlights how Tower House Surgery has become Age Friendly and the benefits this has for their patients and the toolkit provides a guide to helping other surgeries become Age Friendly. For more information on this project contact emma.lincoln@ageukiw.org.uk or see http://agefriendlyisland.org/making-gp-surgeries-age-friendly/
