Summary
Legacy is a program develops in the “Euskadi Lagunkoia” initiative (Age-Friendly Basque Country). It is a documentary project that collected the experiences of older people throughout the territory of the Basque Country. The elderly are an indispensable resource for the transmission of intangible heritage. This project is based on give the floor to the elderly, picking their knowledge and experience throughout his life to transmit to younger generations.Aims:• Intangible cultural heritage transmission by the older people.• Overcome ageism.• Change the image of the elderly. • To value older people as transmitters of the Basque culture.• Promote the elderly empowerment.There are 12 documentary videos (5’). These videos are available online and we are working to spread in: schools, cultural centers, museums, libraries, community centers, etc.Video englis subs: https://vimeo.com/94079856Euskadi Langunkoia –Age-friendly Basque Country – is a cross-cutting initiative that engages citizens, the public and private sectors to create supportive and enabling environments for older people. Euskadi Langunkoia works with a number of communities across the Basque Country (35) to develop a network of age-friendly communities and facilitate the exchange of good practice between them.
