Established in Bordeaux in 2013, the “ensemble2générations” association works to promote intergenerational relations, break the solitude of older people and combat the precariousness of young students faced with a rare and expensive housing crisis, by accommodating young people in the homes of older people. The project, run in partnership with the city of Bordeaux and its CCAS, is to offer intergenerational accommodation in collective structures such as independent living residences.

Around forty young people have benefited from this partnership, with different nationalities living side by side. Their different backgrounds and interests ensured that the activities offered by the young people to the senior residents complemented each other. Although the experiment began with one residence and five studios, the CCAS now entrusts thirteen studios.
Implantée depuis 2013 sur Bordeaux, l’association “ensemble2générations” œuvre pour favoriser l’intergénérationnel, rompre la solitude des personnes âgées et lutter contre la précarité des jeunes étudiants face à de crise du logement rare et coûteux, en hébergeant les jeunes chez des seniors. Le projet, mené en partenariat avec la ville de Bordeaux et son CCAS, est de proposer l’intergénérationnel dans les structures collectives comme les résidences autonomie.

Une quarantaine de jeunes ont pu bénéficié de ce partenariat, différentes nationalités se sont côtoyées. Les différents horizons d’étude et de centres d’intérêt ont assuré une complémentarité dans les animations que les jeunes ont proposé aux seniors des résidences . Si l’expérience a débuté avec une résidence et cinq studios, désormais le CCAS confie treize studios.
