< Seocho-gu age-friendly city policy implementation >
As a part of senior welfare service in Seocho-gu, we have been proceeding policies and operating the following services to improve the quality of life for seniors: (i) The senior center; (ii) Welfare support facilities; (iii) Culture and leisure complex center for new class of elders; and (iv) Consultation for an elder who lives alone. Seocho-gu has implemented the most innovative strategies to create the age-friendly city to achieve one of goals. Based on the survey results for the development of the guideline for age-friendly cities/communities, we are planning the following major.
□ Direction
◯ Establish the optimum infrastructure for senior health, safety, and social participation to invigorate senior life
◯ Conceptualize an action plan to improve the quality of life for all residents including senior citizens based on the Plan for an Ageing Society and Population and the eight domains of the WHO’s Age-friendly City (AFC)
◯ Join the WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities to discuss issues pertaining to the aging population with member cities and benchmark cases of other cities in Korea and overseas
